The picture on the left shows the SEM photomicrograph of collapsed foam produced from 0.7 IV post consumer recycled PET without modification and carbon dioxide gas. It is clear that this is not a carbon dioxide foamable material.
 
 





The picture on the left shows the SEM photomicrograph of closed cell foam produced from modified 0.7 IV post consumer recycled PET resin with Carbon Dioxide. Average cell size is ~500mm. Density of the product is 0.1g/cc. 1.25" diameter, 40 L/D long segmented single screw extruder and a 3 mm dia. rod die was used to produce this foam.
